Notes on carrying out repair work in the vehicle interior

Remove

Remove cargo area stowage shelf and lay down with upper side down on clean surface

Move handle (1) to release position as shown

Unscrew bolt with washer (2)

If installed.

Pry off handle (1) with assembly wedge (3) and remove

During this procedure the handle (1) is damaged and must always be replaced.

Mounting wedge

Press down bolt (4) (arrow A) and simultaneously pull shaft (5) out of bolt (4) with suitable pliers

Install

Insert shaft (5) into new handle (1)

Position handle (1) on bolt (4)

Press down bolt (4) and simultaneously press shaft (5) into bolt (4) with suitable punch until shaft (5) makes contact in handle (1) (arrow B)

Helper required to press down bolt (4).

Tighten bolt with washer (2)

Install load compartment shelf

Check locking and unlocking mechanism for proper function
