2 | Cover vehicle in rear area | To prevent scratching the paint during assembly work. | |
3 | Remove expansion clip (2) below left and right head restraint (3) | ||
4 | Take off cover (4) | Installation: Ensure that cover (4) is seated correctly in left and right guide rail (7). | |
5 | Unhook left and right partition (5) at side | ||
6 | Pivot retractable partition (1) upward | ||
7 | Insert arresting block (8) into left and right guide rail (7) as shown | The retractable partition (1) is arrested in the left and right guide rail (7) by the arresting blocks (8) It may be necessary to push up the retractable partition (1) by hand so that the arresting block (8) can be inserted in the hole pattern provided in the left and right guide rail (7) Observe installation position of arresting blocks (8). | |

8 | Unscrew bolts (6) from left and right guide rail (7) | Installation: Screw in bolts (6) on left and right guide rail (7) to stop. Determine upper gap dimension "a", align left and right guide rail (7) parallel to one another and then tighten bolts (6) on left and right guide rail (7). | |
9 | Remove left and right gas-filled strut (9) from retractable partition (1) | Do not remove retainer from left and right gas-filled strut (9), otherwise the tension of the retainer is not longer ensured. | |
10 | Disconnect electrical connector (11) from variable soft top compartment limit switch (S84/9) | ||
11 | Unscrew nuts (10) on left and right vehicle side from retractable partition (1) | ||
12 | Remove retractable partition (1) | ||
13 | Install in the reverse order |
