On vehicles with 12 Volt and 24 Volt on-board electrical system, all ground lines must be disconnected for reasons of safety.

Remove battery in center console

Move seat toward rear and remove side covers on center console (1)

Installation: Ensure that blower hoses are routed correctly.

Remove main battery switch

with CODE E30 (Battery master switch)

Remove upper center console cover (3)

Disconnect electrical connectors at rear of cover

Only on vehicles with central locking and electrically adjustable outside mirrors.

Remove floor shift (2)

Disconnect ground connection on center console (8) in driver footwell

Unscrew bolts (10) on electrical connectors from center console (6, 7)

Disconnect electrical connectors from center console (6, 7) in driver footwell

Disconnect hose connection from battery compartment vent between passenger seat and center console

Remove central gateway with additional functions

Remove airbag control unit

Unscrew ground line (4) from yaw rate sensor

Disconnect electrical connector from yaw rate sensor (5)

Unscrew bolts from center console on driver and passenger side on vehicle floor

Unscrew bolts on center console (9) in battery compartment

Remove center console

20

Install in the reverse order

Check

Connect diagnostic system, read out fault memory and delete if necessary
