Start with stamp characters "Mercedes star" in stamp field of stamping guide (5) at far left.


Tip of Mercedes star must point upwards in stamp field.

Then place letter stamp "W" with left edge at first graduation line of stamping guide (5) in stamp field and stamp in.

Move forward with each subsequent letter stamp and stamp characters by one graduation line on stamping guide (5) scale until the entire vehicle identification number and final Mercedes star have been stamped on crossmember under driver's seat on right.

Remove stamping guide (5).

Coat borehole with zinc dust paint.
