Remove/install sensors for Parktronic system (PTS) on the outside of the front bumper
Remove/install sensors for Parktronic system (PTS) on the outside of the front bumper

Work procedure shown on left side of vehicle

Remove retaining clips (1) from left or right fender liner (2).


Installation: Check the retaining clips (1) for damage.


If damage is present

Replace respective retaining clip (1).

Remove/install sensors for Parktronic system (PTS) on the outside of the front bumper

Push fender liner to one side until outer left front PARKTRONIC sensor (B8/18) or outer right front PARKTRONIC sensor (B8/21) is accessible.

Disconnect electrical connection at PARKTRONIC sensor, outer left front (B8/18) or PARKTRONIC sensor, inner right front (B8/21).

Carefully pull catch hooks (arrows) outwards and pull PARKTRONIC sensor, outer left front (B8/18) or PARKTRONIC sensor, outer right front (B8/21) out of the guide.


Installation: Check the decoupling ring (3) for damage.
Convert decoupling ring (3) when replacing left front outer PARKTRONIC sensor (B8/18) or right front outer PARKTRONIC sensor (B8/21).


If decoupling ring (3) is damaged

Replace decoupling ring (3).

Install in the reverse order.
