Suction off steering oil in steering oil reservoir

 Hand pump

Remove return hose (1) from cooling line (2) of power steering system

 Collect escaping oil in suitable container, or seal return hose (1) and cooling line (2) with stop plugs.

 Record plug

Remove return hose steering gear (3) from cooling line (2)

 Collect escaping oil in suitable container, or seal cooling line (2) using stop plugs.

 Record plug

Turn steering to left and right wheel lock


Never leave the engine running.
Otherwise, the power-steering pump will be destroyed.

 Have someone assist you to collect escaping oil in a suitable container.
This ensures that the oil doesn't continue to run out of the return hose steering gear (3).

Remove cooling line (2)

 To do so, unscrew and remove the nuts (4).

Drain all the oil from the cooling line (2)

 Collect oil in suitable container.



Install

Install cooling line (2) of power steering system

Mount return hose steering gear (3) onto cooling line (2)

Mount return hose (1) onto cooling line (2)

Fill steering system

Check connections of installed hoses for leaks

 Turn steering several times to left and right with engine running.

Mount cap

 Ensure gasket is correctly installed.
