Set the clock spring contact to center position

The horn clock spring contact and driver airbag (A45) must be positioned in the center if the airbag and signaling system are to operate smoothly. When removed, this is guaranteed by the screws (32h).

Set the clock spring contact to center position

Remove horn clock spring contact and driver airbag (A45).

Screw the screws (32h) all the way into horn clock spring contact and driver airbag (A45).

Turn horn clock spring contact and driver airbag (A45) far enough to the left until a slight resistance is noticeable.


The horn clock spring contact and driver airbag (A45) are completely rolled up.

Turn horn clock spring contact and driver airbag (A45) back through approx. 2.5 to 3 turns to the right until the screws (32h) can be unscrewed again through the openings and fix the horn clock spring contact and driver airbag (A45) in place.


The entire torsion range of the horn clock spring contact and driver airbag (A45) is approx. 5 to 6 turns.
