Use only approved tensioning devices; additionally screen off hazardous area if necessary. Check special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection). Wear protective gloves.

Remove/install

Remove brake drum.

Unhook both retracting springs (1) and swivel brake shoes (2) outward.

Installation: Hook retracting springs (1) with the right-angle bend towards the axle tube.

Remove combination brake cylinder.

Remove wedge unit (3).

Remove O-ring (4) from brake carrier.

Installation: Replace O-ring(4).

Install in the reverse order.
