1 | Drain the oil from the rear axle | ||

2 | Release drive shaft from the flange or from the coupling yoke on the longitudinal differential drive shaft | Release the drive shaft only from the flange or the coupling yoke of the drive shaft, and safely support the free end of the drive shaft to prevent accidents. | |
Install: Tighten the screws securing the drive shaft, to the specified tightening torque. | |||

4 | Disconnect the compressed air hose (5) | ||
5 | Put under the longitudinal differential cap a suitable lifting device to safely remove the center differential | ||
6 | Remove the screws (3) securing the longitudinal differential cap | | |
7 | Screw two M12x1.5 screws on the removal screws of the longitudinal differential cap (1) | ||
7 | Install two M12x1.5 screws on the threaded holes for removal of the longitudinal differential cap (1) and alternately and evenly tighten both screws | Install: Keep the longitudinally differential assembly cap aligned and parallel with the rear axle housing to avoid damage to the roller bearing in the housing. | |
Install: Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces between the rear axle cover and housing and apply a sealant | |||
