Pry off ball heads of shift cables (3) on transmission (1) and detach bracket of shift cables (3) on transmission (1).

With transmission 717.470/471

 The bracket of the shift cables (3) is secured with two bolts.

Detach electrical wiring harness on shift actuator

With transmission 717.474

Unplug connector (2)

Unclip wiring harnesses from the brackets (4, 5).

Remove starter

 Remove starter from above.

Detach ground line (6) from transmission (1)

Unscrew bolts of the transmission (1) from the engine at the top.



Install engine bridge

Unscrew bolt (9) and unscrew nuts (7)

 Install new self-locking bolt (9) and nuts (7).



Remove front drive shafts

Detach lower engine compartment paneling

Unhook retaining rubber (16).

Detach slave cylinder (13) and bracket (14) from transmission (1)

Remove the clutch actuator

Unscrew bolts (12) and remove flywheel cover (10)

Unscrew bolts of the transmission (1) on engine at bottom.

 Do not unscrew bolts (11).



 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Lower vehicle until the engine bridge can be lowered

Lower transmission (1) and engine with engine bridge until the transmission (1) can be taken out

 When lowering the transmission (1) loosen the transmission bearing (8) from the transmission (1) using a suitable screwdriver.



Position removal fixture (17) under the transmission (1)

 The base jacks from the companies Mazzola and AS Hydraulic can be used according to choice.



Unscrew bolts (11), detach transmission (1) from engine and put onto the removal fixture (17).

 The base jacks from the companies Mazzola and AS Hydraulic can be used according to choice.

 Installation: Grease transmission shaft slightly using suitable grease.


