| Inspecting, setting | ||
1 | Connect handheld tester (HHT) | Attach handheld tester (HHT) to adjust the start of injection to the diagnostic socket. | |
2 | Allow engine to warm up | Until a coolant temperature 30°C- 60°C is reached. | |
3 | Turn off engine | ||
4 | Remove fan belt | ||
5 | Detach air hose from charge air distribution tube | ||
6 | Unhook radiator support and swivel radiator forwards | ||
7 | Loosen mounting bolts on intermediate flange (1) and support (2) | ||
8 | Run engine | ||
9 | Adjust menu point "injection timing device actuations" on handheld tester (HHT) | ||
10 | Set start of injection using the handheld tester (HHT) and the adjustment screw (3) on the intermediate flange (compare actual value with specified value; both are displayed in the HHT). | To the right = start of injection later To the left = start of injection earlier HHT indication: specified value on the left - actual value on the right, deviation 1.5° crank angle (CKA). | |
11 | Tighten bolt (2) on support. | | |
12 | Turn off engine | ||
13 | Tighten bolts (1) on intermediate flange | | |
14 | Read out fault memory with hand-held tester (HHT) and erase if necessary | ||
15 | Allow the engine to run, then stop and check leaktightness | ||
16 | Install in the reverse order |
