Y49 Adjustable camshaft timing solenoid

Remove/install

Disconnect electrical connector (1) on adjustable camshaft timing solenoid (Y49)

Remove bolt (2) on adjustable camshaft timing solenoid (Y49)

Pull adjustable camshaft timing solenoid (Y49) out of cylinder head

Installation: Replace sealing ring on adjustable camshaft timing solenoid (Y49).

Install in the reverse order

Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and check cylinder head in the area of the adjustable camshaft timing solenoid (Y49) for leaks
