3 | Set piston on cylinder 1 to ignition TDC | The TDC marking on the belt pulley (1) must align with the positioning edge on the timing case cover (arrow). The cams for the intake camshaft and of exhaust camshaft at cylinder 1 must be positioned upwards at an angle. | |
4 | Check basic position of camshafts | Markings (A) on the camshaft adjuster (2) and on the camshaft sprocket (3) must lie opposite to each other at the level of the upper edge of the timing case cover (4). Possibly also set the basic position of camshafts. Refer to: | |
