Check seat belts and seat belt buckles for external damage and operation

Check



If a customer refuses replacement of a damaged seat belt or seat belt buckle (2), an appropriate note must be made on the repair order

Pull belt (1) out all the way and check for any signs of damage

If any fibers are cut through or if there are any chafing marks or any other signs of damage, then: 

replace the front seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor.



Remove/install seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor

Replace rear seat belt



Remove/install rear seat belts

Inspect seat belt (1) for twisting

If problem exists, inspect whether seat belt is twisted behind the trim through 180°, in this case subject to separate repair order:

Remove/install seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor on front seat



Remove/install seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor

Remove/install seat belt in rear.



Remove/install rear seat belts

Check blocking function of inertia reel by pulling out belt (1) rapidly

If problem exists, subject to separate repair order:

replace the front seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor.



Replace rear seat belt



Remove/install rear seat belts

Check seat belt buckle (2) for damage and make sure that latch plate (3) engages correctly

If problem exists, subject to separate repair order:

Fit new seat belt buckle on front seat.



Remove/install seat belt buckle (front seat)
