Danger! | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. | |
Danger! | Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel | No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear protective clothing when handling fuel. | |
1 | Switch off ignition | ||
2 | Open fuel filler flap and open filler cap and reseal | in order to reduce the pressure in the fuel tank. | |
3 | Raise vehicle with vehicle lift | The fuel filter (3) is mounted on the frame floor assembly above the left rear axle shaft. | |
4 | Pinch-off fuel hoses (1) | Clamping device | |
5 | Open CLIC-clamps (A) and detach fuel hoses (1) as well as degassing hose (2) from fuel filter (3) | Installation: Replace the CLIC clamps (A). Never use screw and nut clamps or spring bracket clamps, as air-tightness will be lost. | |
Collect any escaping fuel with an absorbent rag. | |||
Installation: Check fuel hoses (1) and degassing hose (2) for damage, replace if necessary. | |||
6 | Remove retainer (4) of fuel filter (3) | ||
7 | Remove fuel filter (3) from retainer (4) | Installation: Mount the rubber rings attached to the fuel filter (3) on the new fuel filter (3), otherwise there will be contact corrosion and noise development. | |
Installation: Replace fuel filter (3). | |||
8 | Install in the reverse order | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. | |
9 | Start engine and check fuel system for leaks |
