Remove/install

Notes on avoiding damage through contamination and foreign objects

Switch off ignition

Remove upper engine cover (1)

In order to avoid scratches and damage, put down upper engine cover (1) on a padded base.

Pry off clips (2, 6 pieces) for fixing the cover (3) using a screwdriver

Unlock lock (3v) and remove cover (3) of air filter housing (4)

Lift up air filter element (5) at rear and detach from fitting of hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)

Take air filter element (5) out of air filter housing (4)

Replace air filter element (5).

Installation: Insert the shaped section (arrow) on the air filter element (5) in the notch (4k) in the air filter housing (4).

Checking

Check gasket (4d)

Check for damage and correct seating. Replace if necessary or insert in the groove on the air filter housing (4).

Clean

Clean air filter housing (4) and cover (3) from inside

Cleaner from package

Install in the reverse order
