| Notes on avoiding damage through contamination and foreign objects | ||
1 | Open engine hood | ||
2 | Remove bolts (1) of the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) | | |
3 | Tilt the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) upwards, remove it from the guides at the back on the air filter housing (2) and put on the side | Do not detach the electrical connectors at the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10). | |
4 | Remove the air filter element (3) with the frame (4) from the air filter housing (2) | To do so, press the notch (4a) and tilt the air filter element (3) with the frame (4) approx. 30° in the direction of travel and remove upwards. | |
Installation: Insert the guides (4b) of the frame (4) into the notches at the bottom of the air filter housing (2). | |||
5 | Remove the air filter element (3) from the frame (4) | Replace air filter element (3), do not clean | |

6 | Clean the air filter housing (2) from inside and also the frame (4) | Cleaner from package | |
| Checking | ||
7 | Check seal (2a) | Check for any damage and ensure the correct position; replace if necessary. | |
8 | Install in the reverse order |
