The radio frequency/infrared DAS control module has the following purposes:
a) Radio frequency/infrared remote control for central locking
— Reception and evaluation of radio frequency and infrared signals
After recognition of valid radio frequency or infrared signal
— Actuation - of central locking (CL)
- of anti-theft alarm (ATA)
- of convenience feature (CF)
- of confirmation via turn signals with
combination relay.
— Reading in - and evaluating the mechanical lock switch signals (SN1 - unlock, SN2 - lock), only
- The relocking signal
- The "hazard warning flasher active" signal.
b) Drive authorization system stage 2b (DAS 2b)
— Control of the coil for the transponder on the ignition/starter switch
— Reading in and evaluating the transponder signal
— Releasing engine control module via CAN bus when transponder code is valid.
The radio frequency/infrared DAS control module (N54/4) evaluates the transponder data received and releases the engine control via the CAN bus when valid.
