When the engine is stationary, storage functions are performed when the ignition is switched off and control or monitoring functions when the ignition is switched on at the vehicle side by the FMR control unit (E module) and at the engine side by the EDC control module.
Connecting a Hand-Held Tester (HHT) to the 14-pin diagnostic socket makes it possible to carry out vehicle diagnosis and parameterization.
The FMR and EDC control units are linked through the CAN data bus to each other and also monitor each other.
