1 | Open soft top | Lower soft top and leave soft top compartment cover upright. | |
2 | Disconnect battery ground line | ||
3 | Detach draft stop from left or right head restraint padding (1) | Only with code (288) Draft stop for convertibles | |
4 | Remove cover behind rear seat backrest | ||
5 | Pull up head restraint padding (1) against spring force to the stop using guide rods (2) and secure against lowering using suitable tool | Head restraint padding (1) is pushed onto a retaining frame (3) and latched onto it. | |
6 | Release head restraint padding (1) at catch tabs (4) (arrows) | ||
7 | Remove head restraint padding (1) upwards | Retaining frame (3) and guide rods (2) remain in the vehicle. | |
| Installation | ||
8 | Lower retaining frame (3) of head restraint padding (1) using guide rods (2) | ||
9 | Push head restraint padding (1) onto retaining frame (3) and latch | Check catch tabs (4) for damage, replace head restraint padding (1) if necessary. Ensure that the installation position and latching of the head restraint padding (1) on the retaining frame (3) is correct. | |
10 | Install in the reverse order | Operation step 1 to 4. |
