Risk of injury caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.

Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.

Remove front door lining

Withdraw ignition key

Disconnect plug (4) from driver sidebag squib (R12/9) or front passenger sidebag squib (R12/10) on sidebag unit

Detach electric and pneumatic lines from inner door panel (1)

Unscrew bolts at circumference of inner door panel (1)

Installation: Observe installation position of screws.

Remove inner door panel (1) while guiding operating cable (2) and release linkage (3).

Installation: Remove old sealing strip from inner door panel (1) and install new sealing strip.
