Remove paneling from left and right C-pillar

Unscrew nut (2) and remove ground (heated rear window) (W13)

Disconnect heated rear window connector (R1x1)

Mask off areas around rear-end window (1) with suitable textile adhesive tape

 Masking prevents damaging vehicle paintwork in repair area.

 Danger!

Risk of injury due to tear or warming up of cutting wire and through glass splinters when cutting out glued windows

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Cut out rear window (1) with Roll out 2004 window removal tool and remove.

 Aid of helper is required to remove rear-end window (1) from body flange.

Unclip electrical plug contacts (3) from rear window antenna amplifier module (A2/12)

 The electrical plug contacts (3) on the rear window antenna amplifier module (A2/12) are destroyed when cutting out the rear window (1).

Remove shaped rubber gasket from body flange in lower area

 The shaped rubber gasket is destroyed when the rear window (1) is cut out.



Install

Prepare body flange for installation of window

 The gluing area on the body flange must be absolutely free of dust and grease to prevent a decrease in the gluing force when installing window.

Pay attention to notes concerning the preparation of new parts such as the A-pillar, the roof or the side walls.

Prepare rear window (1) for installation

 The gluing area on the rear-end window (1) must be absolutely free of dust and grease to prevent paint adhesion problem of the adhesive material when glazing.

Clip new electrical plug contacts (3) into rear window antenna amplifier module (A2/12)

Install rubber channel seal in lower area of body flange

Open driver-side window

 The side window in the driver door must be opened during the curing time to prevent the rear-end window (1) from being pressed out by the air when the doors are closed.

Apply adhesive material

 Install rear-end window (1) on body flange within 10 minutes after applying glue, otherwise adhesive force of glue starts to decrease.

 Uniformly apply glue in shape of bead at a height of approx. 13 mm.
