Loosen wheel nuts and remove wheel

Separate connectors of brake wear indicator (3)

Remove anti-rattle spring (2)



Remove inner brake shoe (4)



Fix pistons alternately with wedge (7) and press back using resetting device (6).

 In order to prevent the brake fluid reservoir from overflowing when pressing back the pistons, suction off some brake fluid.

Remove outer brake shoe (5)



Check brake disks and brake linings for wear

Clean

Clean brake parts



Install

Install outer brake pad (5)

 Only brake pads approved by Mercedes Benz must be installed. Fit new brake pads on both wheels of an axle at the same time.

Install inner brake pad (4)

Install anti-rattle spring (2)

 Use new bolts and anti-rattle spring (2).



Connect the connectors of the brake wear indicators (3)

Fit wheel and tighten wheel nuts



Build up brake pressure

 Operate brake pedal several times.

Check brake fluid level in reservoir and correct if necessary


