1 Insert spreader (058) into rear axle housing and turn threaded shaft by hand up to the bearing surface on outer bearing race.
2 Fasten stop (057) to support contact arm on rear axle housing.

3 Plug stop pin (059a) into the internal bore of the contact arm (059) and clamp securely with knurled screw.
4 Adjust the length of the gauge stand (059b) (front notch) so that the dial gauge tip abuts the rear axle housing (50).Clamp gauge stand (059b) with hexagon scoket bolt.

5 Place contact arm (059) for spread dimension measurement on stop (057).
Set dial gauge on "0" with "3 mm" preload.
The stop pin (arrow) of the contact arm must abut the bearing surface of the rear axle housing.

6 Turn straight surface (arrow) of the thrust piece towards the opening of the locking ring (29).
7 Screw in threaded shaft (058a) of the spreader until the rear axle housing has achieved a spread dimension of 0.20 mm.
Do not exceed the specified spread dimension when expanding!
8 Remove contact arm.

9 Remove left locking ring (29) from the rear axle housing using circlip pliers (064).
Mark locking ring.
10 Release load on rear axle housing and remove spreader.
