4 | Detach protective cap (1) and remove electrical lines to electrical connections (2, 3) | | |

5 | Remove bolts (4) and remove starter (M1) from bottom | | |
| Checking | ||
6 | Check starter ring gear for wear and damage | When replacing the starter (M1) | |
Rotate engine at center bolt of crankshaft in the direction of rotation. | |||
