 In examining exchanged and newly installed rain/light sensors (RLS) it has become apparent that the mounting brackets (clips) have been loose and that the RLS has not been coded properly.

Due to faulty assembly (clipping in place) or incorrect coding of the RLS, correct function cannot be ensured if the brackets (clips) are loose. The RLS does not function correctly, failing to work at all or reacting in an implausible manner.

 When installing and/or removing the RLS, make sure that the resistor (1) on the inner side of the sensor does not become pressed inward or damaged.

 When installing the RLS, make sure that all 4 retaining clips (arrows) audibly engage on the sensor.

 After the RLS has been exchanged, a windshield adaptation procedure (coding) must be performed with STAR DIAGNOSIS.
