The automatic air conditioning (AAC [KLA]) control unit is located in the right front footwell.

Task

The automatic air conditioning (AAC [KLA]) control unit has the following tasks:

 Reading in of signals

 Evaluation of input factors

 Actuation of components

Reading in of signals

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

 Direct line

 Climate control LIN (LIN B8)

 Interior CAN (CAN B)

Direct line

The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:

 Refrigerant pressure sensor (B12)

 Evaporator temperature sensor (B10/5)

 Left footwell air vent temperature sensor (B73) (with CODE HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control))

 Right footwell air vent temperature sensor (B74) (with CODE HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control))

 Interior air temperature sensor (M9b1)

Climate control LIN

The signals from the following components are read in via the climate control LIN:

 Water stationary heater radio remote control receiver (A49/5) (with CODE H12 (Auxiliary water heater) and with CODE HY1 (Radio remote control for auxiliary water heater))

 Front heater/air conditioning operating unit switch

 REAR heater/air conditioning operating unit switch (S98/2) (with CODE HZ7 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC in rear))

Interior CAN

The signals of the following control units are read in via interior CAN:

 Signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit (N10/1)

 Electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73)

 Gateway for user interface-CAN (N93/4)

Evaluation of input factors

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

 Blower regulator

 PTC heater booster control unit (N33/4)

 Rear heater/air conditioning air recirculation unit (A32/4) (with CODE HZ7 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC in rear))

 Rear air distribution actuator motor (A32/4m2) (with CODE HZ7 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC in rear))
