1 | Rear heater air recirculation unit | 2 | Rear heater air recirculation unit cover |
Location
The rear heater blower motor is integrated into the rear heater air recirculation unit.
Task
The rear heater blower motor draws in the recirculated air from the passenger compartment of the vehicle and channels the heated recirculated air back into the passenger compartment.
Body
The rear heater blower motor consists of a housing, the permanent magnets which are located on the housing wall, a solenoid armature with winding, a thermal protection switch, the motor axle and the blower wheel, which is located on the motor axle.
Function
The rear heater blower motor is switched on and off via the additional heat exchanger two-way button. The flow of current in the winding generates a magnetic field. Due to this magnetic field the armature turns with winding in the magnetic field of the permanent magnet and the motor axle turns. The thermal protection switch protects the rear heater blower motor against a thermal overload.
