Detach electrical lines (3).

 For this purpose, remove nuts (2) of electric lines (3).

Remove screws/bolts (4).

Remove nut (5).

Mark hole (A) on fuse box (1).

Drill hole (A) in fuse box (1) with Ø 18 mm.

 Commercially available devices/tools

Graduated drill

If necessary,



Deburr hole (A) on both sides.

Install fuse box (1) and attach with screws (4) and nut (5).

Attach electrical lines (3) and fasten with nuts (2)   .

Route electrical wiring harness (6) as shown from installation location of the illuminated Mercedes star to fuse box (1).

 Do not kink electrical wiring harness (6) and ensure it is routed without any chafing.
Prevents damage.

 For this purpose, route supply line (9) of electrical wiring harness (6), as shown, in fuse box (1).

Install feed-through grommet (10) of electrical wiring harness (6) in fuse box (1).

Route ground line (8) of electrical wiring harness (6) to front right lamp unit ground point (W2).

Install supply line (9) of electrical wiring harness (6) for circuit  15 in engine compartment fuse and relay module (K40/10).

 To do this, use one of the following free fuse sockets:
Electrical fuse 222 (K40/10f222)
Electrical fuse 223 (K40/10f223)
Electrical fuse 225 (K40/10f225)
Electrical fuse 232 (K40/10f232)
Electrical fuse 233 (K40/10f233)

Remove nut at right front right front lamp unit ground point (W2).

Attach ground line (8) of electrical wiring harness (6) to front right lamp unit ground point (W2) and fasten with nut   .

Fasten electrical wiring harness (6) in sections using brackets (11) and cable ties to a factory-installed electrical wiring harness.

 Plug (7) of electrical wiring harness (6) is only attached to connector socket of illuminated Mercedes star during installation of radiator grille.

If necessary,



Strap down extended length of electrical wiring harness (6).

Install fuse link (12) from included parts kit in engine compartment fuse and relay module (K40/10).

 Install fuse link (12) in corresponding fuse slot with supply line (9) of electrical wiring harness (6) for terminal 15.
