Unclip covers (1) and check whether the front fog lamp wiring harness (2) is installed

The left fog lamp (E5/1) and right fog lamp (E5/2) can only be retrofitted when the front fog lamp wiring harness (2) required for this has already been installed.

Connect diagnostic system and actuate the front fog lamp relay integrated into the SAM control unit

The front fog lamp relay is actuated under the following menu item:
Systems N10/10 (SAM control unit) Actuations Illumination Actuation of front fog lamps (special equipment) ON / OFF
If the front fog lamps relay is installed in the SAM control unit, it can be clearly heard switching when actuated by the diagnostic system. If this is not the case:

* Not for the USA.

Replace SAM control unit.

Remove

Release front fog lamp wiring harness (2) from brackets (arrow)

Remove cockpit switch group (S6/1)

The old cockpit switch group (S6/1) is not reinstalled.

Install

Install left fog lamp (E5/1) and right fog lamp (E5/2) with new covers
