1 Determine the prestamped Y 0-marking of the center of the bumper on the inside of the bumper and transfer to the front side of the bumper.
2 Mark perpendicular center lines of the sensor mounting holes on the front side as per the diagram, starting from the center of the bumper.
a = 640 mm
b = 200 mm

3 Cut out drilling templates, align the templates to the perpendicular center lines on the bumper and fix with adhesive tape.
The drilling templates must precisely abut the contact edge (AK) shown in the diagram.
4 Center punch the center point of the 35 mm dia. hole on the drilling template and drill through the bumper with inner section to 5 mm dia unless this already has the standard openings for installing sensors.

5 Drill out the predrilled drilling points to 35 mm dia.
When drilling out pay attention to the correct position of the drill or milling cutter. Position drill as per the diagram.

6 Check the inner section of the bumper and rework if necessary.
– On an inner section with standard recesses for supporting the sensors the 35 mm holes must be in the center of the recesses. If this is not the case unclip the inner section and rework the recesses accordingly.
– On an inner section without standard recesses, unclip inner section and drill out the 35 mm holes in the inner section to 60 mm.
7 Deburr the holes in the bumper and inner section.

8 Make a recess for the anti-twist lock of the trim rings in the lower area of the mounting holes.
c = max. 2 mm
9 Insert trim ring (1) with installation housing (2) in the mounting holes of the bumper to test the fit.
To adapt the trim ring, only rework the mounting holes inwards at an angle in the area of the groove.
