Remove/install

Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key

Remove each front wheel

Loosen fender liner in area of front bumper

Push fender liner to one side until left frontal acceleration sensor (B167) or right frontal acceleration sensor (B167/1) is accessible

Disconnect electrical connector (1)

When removing right frontal acceleration sensor (B167/1).

Unscrew bolt (2)

When removing right frontal acceleration sensor (B167/1).

Remove right frontal acceleration sensor (B167/1)

When removing right frontal acceleration sensor (B167/1).

Installation: Ensure right frontal acceleration sensor (B167/1) is correctly seated.

Disconnect electrical connector (3)

When removing the left frontal acceleration sensor (B167).

Unscrew nuts (5) from washer fluid reservoir (4)

When removing left frontal acceleration sensor (B167).

Remove washer fluid reservoir (4) from bracket (6) and secure against falling down

When removing left frontal acceleration sensor (B167).

Unscrew screw/bolt (7)

When removing left frontal acceleration sensor (B167).

Remove left frontal acceleration sensor (B167)

When removing left frontal acceleration sensor (B167).

Installation: Ensure left frontal acceleration sensor (B167) is correctly seated.

Install in the reverse order

Check

Connect diagnostic system and check supplemental restraint system (SRS)

If left frontal acceleration sensor (B167) or right frontal acceleration sensor (B167/1) was replaced.
