 Warning

Risk of injury caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.

Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.

Remove right air vent

Unclip cap (2) of front passenger airbag unit (3)


Model 638 (except 638.094/194/294)You must not pull on the cap:
Otherwise the predetermined fracture points may break.

 Model 638 (except 638.094/194/294)
To do so, press expansion clips (1) together from rear with a suitable tool and push out.

 Model 638.094/194/294
Pull out cap carefully.

 The defective airbag and seat belt tensioner units must be disposed of in a proper and environmentally-friendly manner.

Remove cover below instrument panel on front passenger side

Disconnect connector coupling (R2.1) at squib (R2)

Unscrew screws (4), remove front passenger airbag unit (3)

 Remove screws (4) on both sides.

 Screw/bolt, front passenger airbag unit to instrument panel carrier

Install in the reverse order
