Detach left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) and take out towards the front until the bolts (13) on the driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) or passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2) are accessible

Unscrew bolts (13) and remove driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) or passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2)

Installation: The arrow on the driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) must point in the direction of travel.

The arrow on the passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2) must face opposite the direction of travel.

Disconnect electrical connector (14) from driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) or passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2)

Install in the reverse order

Check supplemental restraint system (SRS) with the aid of STAR DIAGNOSIS

Only when the driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) or passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2) has been replaced.

Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory
