1 | Remove front and rear door sill moldings | Left or right side of the vehicle. | |
2 | Remove left or right front seat | ||
3 | Unclip vent grille (1) and remove | ||
4 | Pull out rear floor covering (2) under the B-pillar paneling (3) | ||
5 | Fold back rear floor covering (2) until driver sidebag and windowbag sensor (A53/1) or front passenger sidebag and windowbag sensor (A54/1) is accessible | ||
6 | Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit | In vehicles with Code (889) Keyless Go: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until the ignition is switched off. Remove the transmitter key from the vehicle and store at a location that is beyond the transmitter range | |
7 | Disconnect electrical connector (4) | ||
8 | Unscrew screws (5) and remove driver sidebag and windowbag sensor (A53/1) or front passenger sidebag and windowbag sensor (A54/1) from the vehicle | | |
9 | Install in the reverse order | ||
10 | Read out fault memory | ||
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory | ||
