Remove/install

Danger!

Risk of injury caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.

Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.

Switch off ignition, detach transmitter key from electronic ignition switch control unit

On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until the ignition is switched off.

Remove the transmitter key from the vehicle and store at a location that is beyond the transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Press cable duct (2) to the side

Release and disconnect electrical connector (4)

Remove left sidebag and windowbag sensor (A53/1) or right sidebag and windowbag sensor (A54/1)

Install in the reverse order

Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS, read out and erase fault memory
