Remove/install

Detach seat backrest trim.

Disconnect ground line from battery.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (2) at sidebag unit (1).

 Installation: Ensure correct engagement of electrical connector (2) at side airbag unit (1).

 Removal lever

Unscrew nut (5).

 Nut, sidebag unit to backrest frame

Unscrew nut (6) and remove with ground line (7).

 Ground line (7) is secured to nut (6).

 Observe installation position of ground line (7).

Remove side airbag unit (1) from backrest frame (4).

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system.

When replacing the side airbag unit (1).


