Remove/install

Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.

Remove headliner.

 Lower roof lining on required side only far enough to gain access to the fastening points of the window airbag (1).

Insert pliers through openings (arrows A) to press tabs (arrows B) together and then remove retaining clips (4).

Release and disconnect electrical connector (2) from left windowbag squib (R12/22) or right windowbag squib (R12/23).

Remove bolt (3) .

 Bolt, window airbag unit to roof frame

Remove window airbag (1) and place on a suitable surface.


Handle window airbag (1) carefully.
Otherwise, the remaining interior equipment or paint may be damaged.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system.

If the window airbag (1) is replaced.


