| Remove/install | ||
1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m) | ||
2 | Disconnect battery ground line | ||
3 | Remove door lining from left or right front door | ||
4 | Drill out rivets (1) | ||
5 | Unhook cable (2) from bracket of sidebag unit (3) | ||
6 | Disconnect electrical connector from left front sidebag squib (R12/20) or right front sidebag squib (R12/21) | ||
7 | Remove sidebag unit (3) | ||
8 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| Check | ||
9 | Check and erase vehicle fault memory using diagnostic system | When replacing sidebag unit (3). | |
