1 | Disconnect battery ground line | ||
2 | Disconnect electrical connector from front passenger airbag squib (R12/8) | Fold retaining clamp towards rear. | |
Installation: Ensure that the electrical connector is locked. | |||
3 | Remove screws (2), crossmember (3) at front passenger airbag unit (1) | Installation: The screws (2) must be replaced. Use micro-encapsulated screws! | |
Bolt, front passenger airbag unit to instrument panel support | |||
4 | Unclip airbag with front pad upwards and remove | All models | |
Do not damage catch tabs and air vent at right. | |||
The defective airbag unit and seat belt tensioners must be disposed of properly and in an environmentally-appropriate way. | |||
5 | Disassemble front passenger airbag module | ||
6 | Install in the reverse order |
