Remove

1.1

Remove armrest

When removing pneumatic spring (1) at passenger seats on center aisle side on left side of vehicle and at passenger seats on right side of vehicle.

Remove passenger seat

When removing pneumatic spring (1) at passenger seat on outer wall side on left side of vehicle.

Unscrew nut (3)

 Counterhold bolt (4).
Screw/bolt (4) with jam nut (5) remains on adjustment lever (2).

Unscrew screw/bolt (6) until it is unscrewed from backrest frame (9)

 Counterhold jam nut (7).
Screw/bolt (6) with jam nut (7) remains on pneumatic spring (1).

Remove pneumatic spring (1) with adjustment lever (2) from seat frame (8)

 Pneumatic spring (1) with adjustment lever (2) forms a unit and cannot be disassembled further.



Install

Position pneumatic spring (1) with adjustment lever (2) on seat frame (8)

Screw on nut (3) by hand until it makes contact with screw/bolt (4)

Screw in screw/bolt (6) by hand until it makes contact in backrest frame (9)

Adjust jam nut (5) such that screw/bolt (4) is seated with no play in mount on adjustment lever (2)

 Screw/bolt (4) must still be able to be turned.

Adjust jam nut (7) such that screw/bolt (6) is seated with no play in mount on pneumatic spring (1)

 Screw/bolt (6) must still be able to be turned.

Tighten nut (3)


Counterhold screw/bolt (4) and jam nut (5) so that they do not turn when tightening.
Otherwise the mount of adjustment lever (2) is jammed or the play of screw/bolt (4) is too large and the function of the backrest adjustment mechanism is impaired.

Tighten screw (6)


Also turn jam nut (7) when tightening screw/bolt (6).
Otherwise the mount of pneumatic spring (1) is jammed or the play of screw/bolt (6) is too large and the function of the backrest adjustment mechanism is impaired.

Install passenger seat

When installing pneumatic spring (1) at passenger seat on outer wall side on left side of vehicle.
