Remove/install trim piece on rear bumper

Remove

Remove rear bumper (2).

Remove mounting clamps (3).

Heat trim piece (1) to approx. 40 °C.



Remove trim piece (1) from rear bumper (2).


Carefully remove trim piece (1).
Otherwise the paint on the rear bumper (2) can be damaged.

 During this process, the trim piece (1) is destroyed and must be replaced.

Clean

Remove masking tape residues from the rear bumper (2).


The bonding area must be free of dust and grease.
Otherwise, permanent adhesion of the trim piece (1) is not guaranteed.

Cleaner

Install

Detach protective foil of the adhesive strips of the trim piece (1).


The working area must be absolutely dry.
Prevent ambient or room temperatures of below 15 °C.
Start installation only after these conditions have been fulfilled.
Otherwise, permanent adhesion of the trim piece (1) is not guaranteed.

Position trim piece (1) on cutout (arrow A), align, and glue on.

Install mounting clamps (3).

Install rear bumper (2).
