The bonding area must be free of dust and grease.
Otherwise, adhesion problems can occur.
1 | Remove adhesive residues with suitable tool. |
2 | Roughen bonding area in front door with fine sand paper. |
3 | Carefully clean bonding area. |

4 | Position template (1) flush with outer edge of front door as shown (arrow A). |
5 | Apply adhesive to rear of bracket (5). |
6 | Position bracket (5) at bottom of opening in template (1) and press to front door for min. 2 minutes. |
The adhesive must cure for at least 12 h at a room temperature of approx. 23 °C and the bracket (5) not subjected to mechanical strain during this time. |
After approx. 15 minutes it is possible to carefully remove the template (1) in direction of arrow. |
7 | Repair paint damage with primer filler and touch-up paint pen. |
If paint was damaged by roughening the adhesive area. |
Use only primer filler and touch-up paint pens approved by Daimler AG. |
