Removal, installation

Remove pulley

Press out dust seal (1) using screwdriver

Remove key (6)

Key driver

Key inserter

 Install key driver and turn to right by 1/2 turn.

Remove circlip (2)

Remove sealing plate (3)

Take out O-ring (4)

Pull out shaft seal (5)

Installation: Replace O-ring and shaft seal and lubricate with compressor oil

The crankshaft seal on the clutch side of the A/C compressor is only supplied as a complete unit and must be installed as such. New and old parts may never be installed together. New shaft seal kits should not be immediately removed again due to a slight leakage point. The carbon ring is lapped together with the inside of the sealing plate. The snug fit improves during the running in time of the shaft seal.
