Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

Discharge air conditioning system.

Remove the alternator.

Remove lower engine compartment paneling.

Unscrew screw (2) and detach refrigerant line (1).

 Bolt, refrigerant line on refrigerant compressor

Seal refrigerant line (1) and connection on refrigerant compressor with suitable stop plugs.

 Installation: Replace sealing ring and moisten with compressor oil.

 Record plug

Remove nut (3).

 Nut, refrigerant line to refrigerant condenser

Detach refrigerant line (1) from condenser.



Compressor oils (specification 362.1)

 Installation: Replace sealing ring and moisten with compressor oil.

Seal refrigerant line (1) and connection on condenser with suitable stop plugs.

 Record plug

Remove refrigerant line (1).

Install in the reverse order.
