Only when replacing the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).

Installation: Transfer basic data from STAR DIAGNOSIS into the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).

Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory

Remove cover on center console

Remove bolts (1)

Pull COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) out of instrument panel

Pull out COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) until the electrical connector, the antenna line, and the fiber optic cable connector are accessible.

Disconnect electrical connectors and antenna line on rear of COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)

Disconnect fiber optic cable connector on rear of COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and cover fiber optic cable connector and device connector

Do not kink fiber optic cable, route over sharp edges or route in radii smaller than 25 mm to prevent damaging the fiber optic cable.
