Remove/install

Connect vehicle diagnosis system and commission Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8).

If Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8) is to be replaced.



Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Guide extraction hooks through openings (2), rotate 90° and remove cover (1).

Unscrew bolts (3).

Pull Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8) out of guide (arrow) and disconnect electrical connectors (4).

Unclip retaining clip (5) and remove Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8).

Unscrew screws (6) and remove cover (7) from Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8).

If Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8) is to be replaced.

 The screws (6) remain on the Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8).

Install in the reverse order



Perform function check of Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8).
