Remove/install

Carry out commissioning of Audio/COMAND display (A40/8).

When replacing the audio/COMAND display (A40/8).



Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Remove center air vent (1).

Unclip and remove cover (2) from instrument panel.

Unclip cover (3) and remove.

Loosen screws (4) and pull audio/COMAND display (A40/8) out until the electrical connectors (5, 6) are accessible.

 Removal:
Move screws (4) into upper assembly position at audio/COMAND display (A40/8).
Otherwise the interior equipment may be damaged.

Disconnect electrical connectors (5, 6) at audio/COMAND display (A40/8).

Remove audio/COMAND display (A40/8).


Installation: Move screws (4) into upper assembly position at audio/COMAND display (A40/8).
Otherwise the interior equipment may be damaged.

Release fastening hooks (8) (arrows A) and remove cover panel (7) from audio/COMAND display (A40/8).

When replacing Audio/COMAND display (A408).

Install in the reverse order.
