Remove/install

Open engine hood

Attach front cover for magnesium radiator cross member



When working in the engine compartment, the front cover for the magnesium radiator cross member must be fitted into place to protect the magnesium radiator cross member.
Otherwise, the surface coating on the radiator cross member made of magnesium may be damaged.

Detach complete wheel at right front

Remove rear fender liner at front right

Pull off filler neck (3) at washer fluid reservoir (4)

Unclip electrical line (2) and slide to one side

Remove screw/bolt (1)

Remove filler neck (3) upwards from engine compartment

Unscrew bolts (9)

Remove air inlet grille (8)

Disconnect washer fluid hose (7) from windshield washer system pump (M5/1)

 Collect escaping washer fluid in a suitable vessel.

Disconnect electrical connectors (6) from windshield washer system pump (M5/1) and from windshield washer system fluid level switch (S42)

Remove screw/bolt (5)

Remove washer fluid reservoir (4)

Remove windshield washer system pump (M5/1) from washer fluid reservoir (4)

When replacing the washer fluid reservoir (4).

Remove windshield washer system fluid level switch (S42) from washer fluid reservoir (4)

When replacing the washer fluid reservoir (4).

 Mounting wedge

Install in the reverse order
