Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Unclip cover (2) and remove from cover (3).

Unclip cover (3) and remove.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (4).

Release retaining clamp (5) on both sides (arrows A) from holder (6).

 The retaining clamp (5) is permanently mounted onto the rain and light sensor (1).

 Installation: Retaining clamp (5) must be correctly latched into place on the holder (6).

Remove rain and light sensor (1) with retaining clamp (5) from holder (6).

 Installation: The rain and light sensor (1) must always be replaced.
Detach protective foil from new rain and light sensor (1).



Clean

Remove silicone residue from windshield.


The windshield must be free of dust and grease in the area of the rain and light sensor (1).
Do not touch contact area of rain and light sensor (1).
Otherwise the rain and light sensor (1) may experience malfunctions.

Install in the reverse order.

Commission rain and light sensor (1).



AD00.00-D-2000-06TS

 The value "Clar glass" or "Luggage glass" must always be selected in the menu item Adaptations/Teach-in processes/Rain and light sensor. Otherwise, commissioning will not be completed successfully.

Set CAN bus to rest state.

 The ignition must be switched off and the vehicle must be locked. After 5 min, the CAN bus is in rest state and the new values are transferred to the rain sensor.



Check

11

Perform function test of rain and light sensor (1).
